Here at South Asian Culture Show, we’re committed to investing our talent and determination in order to further achieve our cause. We’ve been supporting our community members in a variety of ways and measuring our success not by monetary size, but by more qualitative measurements such as the scale and effectiveness of our efforts.
SOUTH ASIAN CULTURE SHOW AT A GLANCE
Here at South Asian Culture Show, we know that unity within out communities will only be established with diversity. Therefore, we welcome students from all different backgrounds to come and join the club. Our journey begins as members are put into different Bollywood style dances. Students from various local high schools spend months rehearsing and practicing choreographed dance routines. Finally, members get to perform their dances in front of a large audience of around 300 attendees. The entire experience is one that unifies people from different cultures and creates life-long friendships through the process.
THE CHARITIES
Working Towards a Better Tomorrow
The purpose of this club is not only to unite different cultures, but also to raise money for charities. The ultimate goal of South Asian Culture Show is to generate as much revenue as possible so we can donate money to our partnered charities, Akshay Patra Foundation and Malala Fund. Akshay Patra is an organization that helps feed children across India and combats hunger and improvement within classrooms. Malala Fund, founded by Malala Yousafzai in 2013, fights for girls' educational rights across India and Pakistan. We strongly believe in the causes that both of these charities stand up for. Therefore, we do anything we can to help, including raising money to donate and spreading awareness of their causes.
